Back in September 2017, Apple rolled out three of its latest flagship designs: iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X. Fans instantly gravitated towards the considerably more high-tech X. Safe to say, it has received more attention and demand than any of Apple’s other smartphones.

With a spanking new display, display notch, facial recognition, enhanced gestures controls, and Animoji—iPhone X was a dream come true for many Apple fans. But there’s one thing that it is noticeably lacking: the home button.

With a lot of features moved around, navigating the phone without a home button can be confusing at first. But with these tips and tricks, you can change the way you experience your iPhone X!

Expertly Open the App Switcher

Without a home button to rely on, you’ll have to learn the new gesture controls to navigate app switching. According to Apple, for app access, you can swipe up from the gesture bar in the center of the screen, and a little vibration will signal the App switcher being activated. But this can be a little slow. For easier access, just swipe up in an arc towards left or right.

Easily Activate Siri

Oh, Siri—what would we do without our trusty virtual assistant? You can activate Siri on iPhone X by pushing down the side button on the right side of the phone.

Improve Face ID Unlock’s Speed

While Apple’s Face ID is pretty fast, it can be slower than Touch ID in instances like taking your phone out of your pocket and unlocking it. Make sure that the “Raise to wake” option is enabled in your settings. This will save you from having to tap on the screen to wake it up in order to unlock it.

Easily Go Back to the Home Screen

Want to return to the home screen quickly? Just swipe up from the bottom and voila! The Home Indicator line can easily let you go back to the home screen if you have an app open.

Navigate Between Recent Apps

Switch back and forth between recent apps by swiping left or right on the Home Indicator line. This will let you navigate your apps quickly.

Take a Screenshot

Need to show someone something important? A screenshot is the quickest way to do it. You can take a screen grab by tapping on the side button and the top volume button.
